Scanning Service

We scan 35mm and medium format (up to 6cm x 12cm) slides and negatives using professional quality Nikon and Epson scanners, producing TIFF file sizes up to 130Mb at Max resolution from 35mm slides and negatives. High resolution will produce TIFF files of up to 50Mb, whilst our Standard scans will produce 25Mb files, which are appropriate for A4 prints. Medium format Max Res (6400 DPI) file sizes will be considerably larger, (over 550Mb).

Standard scans will be sized to produce an A4 print at 300 DPI. High res scans are sized to print to A3 at 300 DPI. Maximum res scans are really only required for commercial advertising use (very large prints). Some picture library's require you to have max res TIFF files if they regularly sell pictures to advertising agencies.

We can scan all images on a roll of film at the time of processing and save onto CD, at Standard resolution.

We can also scan individual slides/negatives posted to us to Standard, High, or Max resolution, and return to you saved on CD.

We specialise in scanning old negatives and prints and undertake the necessary post scanning production work to produce enhanced quality digital files. The cost of this service is included in the price of our High res scanning prices.

Individual Slides/Negatives at Max Res - £3.00 each

All Std and High Res scans will be checked following application of dust and scratch removal program, and any marks remaining will be retouched in Photoshop where possible. If negatives are old and in relatively poor condition we will scan to an appropriate resolution to make a good print. (This may be smaller than A4 size).
